SGA election results were announce on a production night. As a staff, we covered the election results.

What a rough night. When your best friend is running for office, it's hard to stay impartial with the paper coverage. We somehow managed to do it. What was worse was watching him lose. I sat in on the vote tallying, and knew several hours before he did that he and been defeated. That night when the results were publicly announced, our entire staff headed down, clad in our Pendulum T-shirts ready to get interviews, pictures, etc. but when someone else's name was read, I couldn't help but cry. Was I the editor, impartial and fair or a best friend? I chose best friend. The Pendulum shirt came off, and for a few brief minutes I was able to comfort the person who I clearly thought deserved the job. Then it was back to work, back to fairness, back to the paper.
