The Story of My Faith...

Faith is something I cannot live without. My faith in God brings me through everyday and it makes up a major part of my mind. It gives me hopes and dreams. Dreams of becoming whatever I want to be whether it is someone who uses her art or someone who works with high school kids. Being uncertain of my future, my faith gives me trust in God and allows me to follow Him completely.

The first time I had ever been on a jet ski was in October 2001. I was on a retreat with the college leaders at Westside and we were having some down time. It was rather chilly but we did not care so we took the jet ski out anyways. And yes, we did manage to flip it and fall into the lake with all of our clothes on. It was worth it!

Westside is a contemporary church that is located right next to Elon University. We meet in the Elon Elementary School gym and there is always and open door and lots of good food and great music! And the preaching is pretty good too! There I am involved in leading the Youth girls and it is one of the best things I have experienced.

SAO is one of the newer organizations at Elon. It is a christian sorority that consists of about 40 girls. Some of the activities we do are service projects, fun nights, and volunteer work at Elon Homes for Children and Room at the Inn in Greensboro.

Being part of Sigma Alpha Omega is something special...we have created many friendships with all different kinds of are a few of the girls at the wedding of one of our sisters in March 2002.

Here we are at our winter semi-formal in November 2001...we joined in with the SAO chapters from N.C. State and Appalachian State as well as the boy's chapter, Chi Alpha Omega from N.C. State, for this occassion.

This is from our most recent event, our Spring Formal that was held on April 28, 2002. This was organized by the girls at N.C. State and held at the Clarion Hotel in Raleigh, NC.

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."
