"Alannah," Jinx said. "A dragon rider does more then fight and explore. Tell me, when you look out to the mountains, what do you see?"

Alannah looked confused.

"What do I see? What do you mean? I see nothing!"

Jinx cocked an eyebrow and looked at Alannah with a subtle smile. Alannah looked angrily at the mountains."

"What kind of question is that? I see trees, I see mountains, I see grass."

"You are only looking Alannah, and looking is not enough. To be a dragon rider, you must see. If you cannot, then you cannot be a dragon rider."
